Sola Shittu 'Oya Take' Feat. LC Beat Scores 7/10 on Gospel Redefined

The song Oya Wake by rap evangelist Sola Shittu featuring beat maker LC Beatz was under a critical review by the Gospel Redefined team. They say "you don't judge a book by its cover", but here's a question, "Should a book's cover be deceptive?".

Listening to this song over and over, it's no doubt that the beat is interesting (if you know LC Beats, you won't be surprised) and it's a courage giving song; praise and worship is cool for it is unto God  but if a person's life is not straight, nothing to encourage someone, then things would seem negative. The lyrics are well fitted, flowing, and it smoothly sorted out the main problem affecting the youth of today, if anyone is indulge in any of the act mentioned, if  'wise' the person could change. The song is so outlined, giving example of how gospel music should be sung, not singing a common and popular song all over again with different tone and beat. It's a good song with fresh voices full of  zeal burning efficiently.
Nevertheless, the art cover of this song doesn't project the message of Christ enough in the frontline, with the artist putting on gold chains just like we see in the secular world makes one to wonder if the rapper remembers what the bible say about being moderately dressed.
Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.” -‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭3:3-4‬ ‭NIV‬‬

The chorus, delivered by LC Beats is the pillar of the song, according to one of our team members "It's the only fitting chorus, it may have dull the song totally if sung otherwise" but on the other part, the chorus says "They wear Prada, you wear used clothes, they wear jewelries, you fake gold chains,  They drink wines, Christians drink pure water.... Still you don't know it's time to wake's time to wise up!". As right as this may sound, it hasn't done a good justice to the lifestyle of believers, looking it from the biblical perspective in Romans 12, we are not to compete or be motivated by the way secular artists appear.
With all being said, it's undeniable that this song is a good one with the message for this moment to the Christian circles, at least to a large extent.

With this review, we rate this song 7/10
