Our Experience At The 93 Days Premiere
The Ebola story is a story everyone has heard, but 93 Days is a movie most haven't seen. The movie 93 days starring Bimbo Akintola, Danny Glover, Gideon Okeke and many others, premiered yesterday in Nigeria at The Rock cathedral, Lekki, Lagos as a follow up to its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival on Friday, September 9, 2016. The movie is produced by Bolanle Austen Peters, Steve Gukas who doubles as the director and Michael Angelo productions.
93days is a movie that portrayed the heroic acts of the doctors and staff of First Consultant Medical Centre in Lagos, Nigeria. It gave us a vivid picture of the effect the Ebola virus had on Nigerians and how it spurred us to action to contain and prevent further spread of the virus to the shock of the whole world who never expected us to fight it under 93 days.
The movie celebrated and immortalized the lives of the brave hearted and selfless doctors who lost their lives in a bid to spare that of many both in Nigeria and the world. It also celebrates the power of collaboration that is... Nigeria is very powerful if we can synergize.
The Senoir Pastor of House on The Rock Pastor Paul Adefarasin comes up to share the story of Ebola from the genesis at the Muritala airport to its prevalence, the fight, the effect on the nation, with the 18500 visits in the fight against this disease. He gave a great rating on the movie and on an ending note returns all glory to God for overcoming all challenges faced.
House on the Rock's mission is to work together with everyone that is interested in building a transformed nation, a better Nigeria, and this essence ties strongly into the courage displayed by Dr, Stella Adadevoh and her colleagues who brought hope to a nation that was being threatened by devastation,at the expense of their own lives. this is the kind of love and sacrifice that can truly bring transformation to all. He said.
The movie cannot be complete if we don't laud the effort of the courageous late Dr Stella Adadevoh as played by Bimbo Akintola who was so busy taking care of others and chose to die while saving others. What was predicted to be an epidemic, a holocaust, Armageddon was averted by these awesome doctors and a virus that kills millions in the space of 21 days was controlled and only 8 lives were lost.
93 Days will be making its theoretical debut on Friday, September 16, 2016 and you'll need to go see it as it filled with excellent scenes of comedy, precise locations, love , care, prayers, suspense, panicking and sadness. It's a must watch movie that explains how life works. Every aspect of the movie is amazing, the actors and actresses knows the true essence of art, the prayer part is perfectly performed by showing how prayerful our country is and how we believe that only prayer could solve yet unseen and seen problems but not mismatching religion with medical. The movie is also full of emotional talks, the caring scenes, the beautiful communications, having joy in sadness, being strong even in the weakest time, worries, being stubborn but not ignorant and also the fear of if one is next to die, all this and more of it is acted in the movie. A cool movie rightly following how the story happened and interpreting into acts how Nigeria had conquered an incurable disease within 93 days, (Ebola virus). Watch and experience feelings and be proud of art, be proud of Nigeria.
One person you'll be surprised to see as we all were was Nigerian star actor Kayode Olaiya, A.k.a Aderupoko.
The movie captured the true life experience in its originality, no exaggerated details, and all shots were taking at the precise location where they occurred. The movie also educated us more about the seemingly silent works of both the Lagos State Government and other health organization to curtail the spread of the virus.
