Watch: The Hillsong Story In Movie: Hillsong - Let Hope Arise

Hillsong United has teamed up with Pure Flix, the no. 1 producer of faith films in America, to release the Hillsong-Let Hope Rise movie chronicling the band’s journey from 1998 to now.
Anyone who regularly attends a church knows Hillsong’s music by heart. That’s how influential they’ve become,” producer Jonathan Bock said. “And yet despite the fame and adulation, they’re still just a humble worship band trying to do what tens of thousands of other worship bands try to do every week – glorify God through their music. How they balance that is a fascinating and surprising story.”
Hillsong United’s songs have been translated into 60 different languages; the worship leaders rotate but the message is always the same: Jesus is a dope guy to know.
“We’re thrilled that Pure Flix is our partner on this project,” Brian Houston, founding pastor of Hillsong Church, said. “It’s our hope that by sharing an up-close and unvarnished look inside our music and lives, we can shatter pre-conceived notions of what it means to follow Jesus in today’s modern world.”
To get an idea of the visual, think, Jay Z’s “Fade to Black.” Hillsong-Let Hope Rise was directed by the same guy, Michael John Warren.
Catch it in theaters everywhere on September 16, 2016.

Hillsong Church is currently housed on five continents and garners a total congregation of over 100,000 weekly. They’re not only focused on bringing people to Christ in their sermons and music, but also helping make the world a better place, rescuing victims of global human trafficking, building homes for people affected with AIDS in Africa and more.
